Day 12: Missoula to Helena

Today was a big PB. 125 miles, which is 22 miles further than my previous longest ride.

It was a long, hard ride with a 50 degree temperature difference. We started the day at 44 degrees, as we rode the temp dropped into the mid 30s, but by the afternoon we were in the mid 80s. The route was basically a false flat until mile 105 when we hit a 4 mile climb with a 5% average grade. At that point I was ready to be done so I put it in an easy gear and just turned the pedals the best I could. It was a long, hot climb, but I was rewarded with an awesome descent where I hit 47 mph (sorry Steph, but it was fun). There were also some amazing views, but definitely not the time to try to take a photo.

Today is also a short post because it was a long day, which meant we got to the hotel later, and I'm tired. Tomorrow is another long one. Dang Montana is a large state.
